How far apart can my trees be to hang my hammock? The optimum distance between trees for hanging a deluxe hammock is 15 feet. If the trees are less than the recommended distance, it will be necessary to raise the location of the tree hooks. How far in the ground must a pole be to support my hammock? If you are not using a stand or trees to hang your hammock, supports can be buried into the ground from which the hammock can be hung. These supports can be metal or wooden poles. The poles must be buried in the ground to a depth of 1.5 to 2.0 feet . Additionally, the support poles must be cemented following the package instructions for the cement mixture.

How high do I need to hang my hammock? The recommended distance from the ground for placement of the tree hook is between 4 and 5 feet. If your supports are closer than the recommended distance, the tree hooks should be raised. You will first need to determine where you would like to hang your hammock.
